Society doesn’t make it easy to appreciate your body just as it is. Big life changes tend to lead to body changes as well. Food is probably the only basic human need that a lot of people think they have to earn, or see as optional. Let’s talk about it. Note that this practice uses an intuitive eating & healthy at every size framework.

In addition to young adults and adults, Pivot Point Therapy & Coaching will see minors currently in high school (ages 15-18). Parents may have the option to join sessions when deemed appropriate or necessary. There are so many changes happening in your life and sometimes you need someone besides your family to talk it through. This also includes sport support for high school age athletes.

Maybe you’re preparing to go to college, in college, or getting recruited. Pivot Point Therapy & Coaching is very familiar with the college athletic experience and higher education. This stage of life is exciting and fun, it can also be a lot with so much autonomy. We can help and if nothing else give you space to vent.

Maybe you opted to not go to college, maybe you just graduated, nonetheless your 20s can be a weird time because there’s no more timeline. Some friends have kids, some get married, some work too much, some are in school, and some travel the world. It’s hard to sort through where you fit in and how you’re doing. You’re right where you’re supposed to be and we are here to help you navigate what’s next.

These are the most common things folks think of when they hear the word “therapy.” If you’ve sought help before or it’s your first time, know that at Pivot Point Therapy & Coaching we don’t want our clients getting cookie cutter, “straight from google” treatment of these things. We want to cater therapy to your unique needs within these “common” reasons to ask for help.

Though this practice doesn’t engage in couples or family therapy, it doesn’t mean that your relationship dynamic can’t be explored and processed individually. This can also include teammate, coworker, player-coach, parent-child, partner-partner, friend, situationships, and other types of relationships. Throughout our life they shift and there are a lot of relational transitions to sort through.

Note that this practice is not able to make a formal diagnosis of ADHD for any client. However with general screeners or a pre-diagnosis this practice is well equipped to aid you in understanding your ADHD and creating systems that work for you and your brain. Adjusting to a new diagnosis or possibility of one is hard.

We grieve more than just death. Sometimes it’s not only the loss of something in the present but also the future you had planned when that thing or person existed. It can be a loss of identity, purpose, etc. There are more layers to grief then denial, anger, bargaining, depression, & acceptance that you always hear about. No grief is the same. Let us sit next to you through it.

Whether it’s a big T or a little T, it happened and you’re impacted. With providers who have worked in crisis of all kinds, we know that everyone responds differently to different things. Let us help you heal with grace and compassion as we work through what happened to you. So you can get back to living instead of hiding. Everyone has trauma, there’s only the difference in who is willing to work with and through it and who isn’t.

This is a somatic therapy modality like EMDR that is used to treat trauma. Brainspotting is also known to help mental blocks in sports as well as resistance to return to sport due to injury.

IFS is another therapy modality used to treat trauma and other diagnoses. Often referred to as “Parts Work.” If you’ve seen the movie “Inside Out” you have a general idea of the concept as the movie is based off this therapeutic intervention. It’s designed to help you get in touch with your core self and learn to work with your protective parts as opposed to being controlled by them.
