For right now, it’s just me!

I view therapy as a chance to build perspective, insight, and awareness to find what’s helpful or unhelpful for an individual. I see it as my job to offer you different perspectives, ideas, and to find themes in your experiences that can help connect the dots to patterns creating stress in your life. My goal is to empower you. You are not broken, you’re human.

My style is NOT smile & nod/blank-slate and I won’t only ask “what do you think?” I’m expressive, I swear, I use humor, I work hard to SEE you, I won’t always agree with you, and I will most certainly highlight systems you’re a part of that influence how you may think and feel. I tend to think issues connect to other things and we are going to work to identify the web you’re stuck in. I’m going to walk with you in this and I see it as my job to offer you different routes, but only you can pick the final path. I’m a believer that if you could figure it out without me, you would. So if you end up working with me we are going to collaborate on how to get you where you want. You bring the expertise on yourself, and the passion and emotion behind whatever it is, and I bring my expertise on what the research suggests, skills, and being able to zoom out and see the whole picture.

The idea for my practice originated while working with university athletes. I saw a need for more support for athletes once they are moving on from sport. Having been a Division 1 athlete myself, I know how many things start to shift in your life once sport is over. It’s almost like you have to redefine yourself in every way. It’s hard, and so many people are struggling with that transition yet no one in sports seems to prepare you for it. So that’s when Pivot Point Therapy & Coaching was born in my head.

However there are so many other things I like working with and a lot of it boiled down to going through transitions. So there’s more support available here than just for athletes; some of my other specialties include LGBTQIA+ experiences, body image & eating disorder struggles, teens, self harm/suicidality and hard relationship dynamics.

I value evidence-based care that embodies practices that are trauma-informed, values-driven, and align with the “Healthy at Every Size” philosophy. I use my unique style and lens as a therapist to incorporate various techniques to fit my clients’ needs. Some modalities I may utilize include CBT, EFFT, DBT, RODBT, ACT, IFS, and Brainspotting.

I attended and played basketball at Binghamton University, where I got my Bachelor’s in Human Development and my Master’s in Public Administration. I then continued on to the University of Michigan, where I graduated with my Master’s in Social Work and received a sport social work certification. I currently work at Utah Valley University as the Sport Mental Health Specialist in the athletic department while also seeing clients in private practice.
